Operations Coordinator

Digi-Bridge Operations Coordinator (Part-Time)

Digi-Bridge sparks interest and persistence in STEAM learning, ensuring students in under-represented communities have access, opportunities and skills to succeed in a rapidly changing world. Since 2015, Digi-Bridge has been providing K-8 scholars throughout Mecklenburg County with STEAM learning experience serving more than 15,000 students and forty partner schools.

Position Summary:
The Operations Coordinator will join the Operations team led by the Operations Manager. This position will be responsible for the following:

  • Volunteer Event and School Programs Materials Management (80%)
  • Inventory Management (10%)
  • Volunteering Event Execution Support (10%)

 

Position Details:

  • Employment Type: Part-Time
  • Location: On-site at Digi-Bridge Office (920 Hamilton Street)
  • Pay: $22/hour
  • Ideal Hours: 3 days/week for 4hrs/day. Flexible in hours between 9am-3pm and days Monday-Thursday.
  • Ideal Start Date: January 5, 2026
  • Supervisor: Operations Manager

 

Major Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:

School Program and Volunteer Event Materials Management

  • Lead the process of sourcing and ordering all materials through a variety of vendors
  • Maintain supply budget spreadsheets to ensure cost savings
  • Receive orders and packages and organize flow of deliveries
  • Package all materials needed for program/event to ensure successful program/event execution
  • Assist with delivery of curriculum bins to schools as needed
  • Create and manage communications system with staff to inform on supplies inventory
  • Anticipate supply needs during increased usage times


Inventory Management

  • Manage Digi-Bridge on-site supplies inventory for school programs and volunteer events
  • Keep materials organized for efficiency
  • Create and maintain systems for organization of supplies

 

Volunteer Event Support:

  • Determine volunteer needs for supplies organization
  • Prepare and package supplies for upcoming volunteer events
  • Assist with volunteering events with emphasis on material management and logistics support (as needed)
  • Provide kit quality assurance checks after completion of volunteer event
  • Manage STEAMKit inventory, to include assisting with distribution out to the community

Qualifications Necessary:

  • At least 2 years working in a professional setting
  • Experience in education, youth programs, or curriculum development preferred but not required
  • Experience working with set budgets required
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all  levels of management and staff, strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable with working Google Suite (Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Gmail) and a willingness to learn new technologies. Previous exposure to project management software is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
This is a part-time, year-round position estimated at 48 hours/month (12 hours per week.) There is a potential
for there to be an increase of hours during busy weeks and those will be planned in advance. Benefits such as PTO, QSHERA, 401K, etc are not available to this part-time position.

The Curriculum Developer(s) will support the programmatic efforts of Digi-Bridge by designing high quality, engaging content and curriculum materials. Most materials will be developed for Digi-Bridge K–2, 3–5, and 6–8 STEAMLab programs but other projects might be assigned as needed.

This is a contract position and the number of hours will depend on projects assigned. On average a curriculum takes 20–30 hours to develop from start to finish. Scope and workload will depend on the project and will be discussed ahead of time with the School Programs Director.

This position can be remote but some instances might require in-person attendances for observations, training, etc. This contract worker reports to the School Programs Director.

Digi-Bridge STEAMLab

STEAMLab is a once a week afterschool program broken into 3 different grade groups: K–2, 3–5, 6–8.

  • K–2 and 3–5 STEAMLab is taught by school teachers and focuses on building, exploring, and tinkering with a focus on hands-on, inquiry based learning. Each STEAMLab series has 5 unique classes under a single curriculum theme.
  • 6–8 STEAMLab is co-taught by a subject matter expert or industry professional and teacher and is delivered in 7 content module blocks. All modules culminate with a real world deliverable.

Curriculum Design

Digi-Bridge develops its own curriculum called “Digi-Bins” to be implemented across program sites. We create and update curriculum based on student interest, science standards, industry expertise, and feedback. Current topics of curriculum range from robotics, 3D designing and printing, body systems, aerospace, physical science and more.

Elements of curriculum

  • Must provide hands-on experiences
  • Must follow constructionist approach centered on creating and testing ideas
  • Must fit timing requirements of each STEAMLab grade band
  • Incorporate Digi-Bridge durable skills, as defined by organizational research based framework
  • Align to relevant science and computational thinking standard
  • Include clear, teacher-ready facilitation materials and resources

Major Responsibilities

  • Instructional Design and Curriculum Development
    • Lead the development of new Digi-Bin curriculums (topics to be chosen by Digi-Bridge staff) from start to finish with the inclusion of the development of all facilitation materials, supply lists, and teaching notes.
    • Attend check-in meetings at kick-off, 20 percent, and 80 percent design completion to ensure alignment with the School Programs Director.
    • Provide training to Digi-Bridge staff on new curriculums to ensure comprehension.
    • Support budget management for materials to ensure we are staying within constraints.
    • Develop content and assessments that align with 21st Century and Computational Thinking standards while using acceptable curriculum pedagogical practices.
    • Review curriculum feedback evaluations from teachers and make recommendations regarding revisions.
    • Work closely with the Operations Coordinator to ensure curriculum materials list are created and updated.

This list of responsibilities may be modified based on each curriculum.

Experience and Qualifications We Are Looking For

  • Curriculum development or instructional design experience, ideally in STEM and experiential learning
  • Knowledge of pedagogy and curriculum design
  • Education background or teaching experience
  • Knowledge of or experience with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools or a similar district
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while actively seeking and applying feedback
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate

Compensation and Benefits

This is a contract position at the rate of $50 per hour. We will be hiring multiple curriculum developers based on the different curriculum themes.
