Join Digi-Bridge’s Virtual STEAMLab Program!

Looking for a way to bring excitement to your child’s weekend? Consider enrolling them in Digi-Bridge’s Virtual STEAMLab program! This program is designed for students who want to participate in fun, engaging STEAM activities from the comfort of their home. Thanks to a generous sponsorship from Google Fiber, we are pleased to announce we will offer the Virtual STEAMLab in February and March at no-cost to participants. The program will be an opportunity for students in 4-8th grade to explore STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) projects at home!

While Digi-Bridge normally hosts in-person sessions at schools, last year we offered our STEAMLab program virtually due to COVID-19. Our virtual model was a success and allowed us to serve more scholars than ever. Building on that success, we decided to launch a virtual version (in addition to our in-person school STEAMLab sites) in order to accommodate similar concerns and to serve as many STEAM scholars in the Charlotte area as possible.

The Virtual STEAMLab sessions will be held via Zoom on the following Saturdays from 9:30 – 11:00am. Students can sign up for one or both of the sessions, but would be expected to attend all four classes in a session.

  • February 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th
  • March 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th

All the virtual sessions will be facilitated by professional educators. Materials will be mailed to students’ homes and our Virtual STEAM Lab course is free of charge. The only thing your child needs to participate is access to the internet and a love for STEAM! If you need assistance sourcing technology devices and internet access for this program, please contact Doc, doc@digi-bridge.org. Digi-Bridge will reach out to participating families by February 1st, 2022 to confirm registration and communicate more details.

Our series offerings for 4th and 5th graders include “Art + Tech” and the “Design Engineering Process.” For middle schoolers, we will offer our series “Game of Codes” in addition to “Art + Tech.”

In February, 4th-5th graders will explore the Design Engineering Process. This curriculum includes engineering projects such as designing a light up greeting card, building strong geometric shapes with candy, and developing a sturdy LEGO wind racer. Middle school students will participate in “Game of Codes,” which teaches students block coding using Scratch. It also explores computer science concepts, such as algorithms and loops using hands-on projects.

In March, all participants will follow the “Art + Tech” curriculum. These sessions will allow students to explore how the fields of art and tech intersect. It allows students to get hands-on with pixel art, data visualization and stop motion animation.

If you’d like to participate, check out the flyers for elementary school participants and for middle school participants. On the flyer, you can access a QR code to register or you can register directly at:

Feel free to reach out to Doc Dillard, doc@digi-bridge.org with any questions or to request a paper copy of the flyer.
