Happy National STEM Day! Today is an opportunity to focus on advancing scholars in the field of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math and we couldn’t be more thrilled to work with our partners at Honeywell to celebrate.
Celebrating STEM Educators
Digi-Bridge, in partnership with Honeywell and Carolina Panthers, selected three outstanding STEM star educators to be recognized for their dedication to providing opportunities in STEM to their school communities. The winners of this year’s STEM Star Award are:
-Keith Burgess of Druid Hills Academy
-LaTasha Monford of Highland Renaissance Academy
-Torie Leslie of Governors’ Village STEM Academy
These teachers experienced an exclusive tour of Honeywell’s new headquarters and were recognized on the field during halftime of the Panthers vs. Steelers on Nov. 7.
Building STEAM Kits
As part of Honeywell’s Global Month of Service, 70 volunteers from Honeywell are packaging at-home STEAM Kits focused on renewable energy projects. 700 kits will be delivered to students from Title 1 Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, community partner organizations such as ourBridge and Greater Enrichment program, and more. Students look forward to these kits every year to further explore STEM subjects in their homes and communities.
Thank you, Honeywell, for your endless support of Digi-Bridge!
We hope our communities takes a moment today on National STEM Day to recognize the way STEM intersects with the world around us and how important our work of advancing students in STEM careers is critical for solving the world’s greatest challenges.
