Digi-Bridge School Year Kicks Off with Family Code-In Powered by Google Fiber

While our core mission is to bridge the technology gap for all scholars, we also value family time.

Our Family Code-Ins strike the perfect balance of providing a fun STEAM experience integrated with quality family time. Last weekend we kicked off the 2019-20 school year with an awesome Family Code-In at Hygge Camp North End powered by our friends at Google Fiber Charlotte.

Seventeen families — 60 people! — from all over Charlotte participated in activities like Garage Band Makey Makey, light painting with Sphero (and long exposure photography) and a collaborative math and mural project where ever participant contributed to create a special message.

Our Family Code-Ins provide a fun environment for parents to connect with their children.

“It’s so great to see parents working together with their kids to build and create,” said Alyssa Sharpe, Digi-Bridge CEO. “It’s a unique, interactive way to connect through technology.”

In addition to scheduled activity time, families were encouraged to explore Camp North End’s murals in a scavenger hunt and enjoyed dinner together. And of course, there were Legos!

“Wow, what a fun night for our family!” One parent said. “The Family Code-In was engaging, educational and had the best staff. My girls are still talking about it.”

That’s what we like to hear.
